Short answer
Audio Handshake is Qrblox's sound-based sharing feature. Nearby phones receive a profile or link through a short audio signal — no camera scan, NFC tap, or Bluetooth pairing — so the connection sticks after the moment passes.
How it works
From a quick introduction to a saved connection in about 30 seconds.
Step 1
Pick the profile, handle, or link you want to share in Qrblox.
Step 2
Tap Audio Handshake — your phone plays a short sound that carries the data.
Step 3
Nearby phones receive it instantly, so the connection survives after the moment passes.
Why sound, not a scan or a tap
vs QR codes
No camera alignment, no good lighting, no "where do I point?" — it works hands-free.
vs NFC
No exact tap and no chip requirement. Works at conversational distance, on more phones.
vs AirDrop
Not locked to iPhone-to-iPhone. Audio reaches iPhone and Android alike.
vs paper cards
The connection lands in the app, not a stack of cards you lose by Monday.

Audio Handshake — FAQs
What is an Audio Handshake?
Audio Handshake is a sound-based way to share compact data — like a profile or link — between nearby phones. Your phone speaker plays a short signal that other Qrblox phones decode.
How is it different from QR codes, NFC, or AirDrop?
No camera alignment (QR), no exact tap or supported chip (NFC), and no pairing or platform lock-in (AirDrop is iPhone-to-iPhone). Audio works across a room and across iPhone and Android.
Does it replace QR codes?
No — it complements them. Qrblox does both: use audio when scanning is awkward, and use QR when a visual code is easier. You can also scan QR codes from photos and screenshots.
Is it free?
Yes. Audio Handshake is built into the free Qrblox app on iPhone and Android.
