Jar lid vs hang card
Put the QR on the jar when the extra is tied to that unit:
- A counted sample (“this lid’s QR is the last lavender soap extra”)
- A refill or recipe that belongs to this batch
- A circular lid where a square code looks taped on
Use a round QR so the dots fill the circle. Keep it on the flat center, not the curved rim. Diameter 2.5–3.5 cm for a typical jam lid. Dark dots on white. Wipe grease before you ask someone to scan.
Put the QR on a card when the extra is tied to the visit, not the SKU:
- “One extra bun with any loaf — today only”
- A tray of samples that is not the jar they are holding
- Wet or dark glass that will never hold contrast
The card can sit in the crate, the bag, or a clip on the table skirt. Still one claim URL per offer, not one QR to your whole wholesale list.
What the scan should do
The scan opens the claim page. Live N left if you only brought twelve extras. TAKEN when the sample tray is gone — so the next shopper does not hunt you after you packed the tent.
Do not point the jar QR at:
- A personal Venmo that you also use for rent
- A Linktree that you will swap to a different product tomorrow
- An app-install interstitial

How to set it up before Saturday
